GETTING TO KNOW YOU
If you're interested in finding out more about what it's like to work with us, we offer all new clients a free 15-minute phone or Skype consultation and with absolutely no obligation to purchase our services.
During our initial conversation, we will work with you to determine how you can best benefit from our services. We will then provide you with an estimate for the most efficient and cost-effective way to move forward. If we design a customized package of services for you, we will provide you with a single-use link to make your purchase.
THE FINE PRINT
Services must be paid in full before work begins, and we must have a signed client agreement on file. For hourly work, there is a one-hour minimum charge. After the first hour, time can be purchased in 30-minute increments. If you buy a block of hours, unused time can be refunded to the nearest half hour at the end of our work together. Comprehensive (non-time-based) packages are refundable only until we send you the first round of detailed feedback on your materials.
Once we start working together on your documents, if we are doing so on an hourly basis, you will receive an update of time used/remaining with each iteration that we send you. You can even ask us to use your purchased time in a particular way. Example: "Please spend no more than 15 minutes on this proofreading task."
If we are designing documents for you, we will help you develop one design to completion. If you subsequently require multiple designs that are significantly different from the original, this will constitute a separate service.
For any documents we work on with you (resumes, cover letters, etc.) our initial feedback will focus primarily on the content level, so that we can get the content to where it needs to be before we dig down to the sentence level (there's no point in editing material that may not make it into the final draft!). We will turn all work around within two business days (unless otherwise noted), barring major emergencies.
The process of creating outstanding career search documents is highly-personalized and iterative--we do not work with templates, but rather focus on creating materials that reflect each client's unique personality, strengths, and skills. This takes more time than a template-based approach, but is significantly more effective! Some documents may require multiple rounds of development, while others may require just one or two.
For non-document services (strategy or personal branding consultations, mock interviews, and/or ongoing coaching/consulting sessions), we will schedule sessions at a mutually-convenient time, using whatever channel is most effective (phone, Skype, or even in-person if we are in the same city and scheduling permits). The content of these sessions will be determined in advance, on an individualized basis.
Cancellation policy for non-document services (strategy or personal branding consultations, mock interviews, and/or ongoing coaching/consulting sessions): We will refund 100% of the session fee if you cancel or reschedule with at least 24 hours notice. We will refund 50% of the session fee if cancellation takes place with 12-23 hours notice. No refunds will be provided for last-minute cancellations or no-call/no-shows.
We cannot guarantee that you will get a job on the strength of our work alone; however, we are committed to ensuring that the work we provide showcases you effectively, putting you in the best possible position to make progress toward your goals.
